Hello, my name is Makea, I’m the owner and head trainer for Prevail K9 Training! Since a young age, I’ve always enjoyed working with dogs, and after interning under a wonderful trainer for two years I wanted to expand my knowledge even more. I attended Highland Canine’s 6 month Master Dog Trainer Course and successfully graduated from the program.

Over the years, I've honed my skills in obedience training, behavior modification, puppy training, and detection training. It's not simply about teaching your dogs commands; it's about helping to forge a better, healthier bond between you are your dog.

Our Wonderful Dog Program - $1675

After undergoing this program with your dog will master being able to listen on leash no matter the situation. Your dog will learn how to engage and be calm when out about. In this program we practice for real life scenarios and go out on public field trip lessons.

Once this program is finished your dog will also be able to behave calmly in the house and even when guests come over, as we’ll be sure to cover all house manners with this program. Jumping, barking, and unruly over excited behaviors will be a thing of the past!

This program is also a great option for owners who have dogs suffering from minor to severe behavioral problems such as over reactive barking, aggression, fear, or any other unsafe or concerning behaviors.

• Do you work with dogs with bite histories?

  Yes, I do! I have no issue working with dogs who have bite histories and will diligently work with owners or rescues to understand and address the issue at hand in the most efficient but safest manner possible.

• Do you work with any dog?

  Yep, no matter what breed or age!

• What are my training methods?

  I have a balanced approach to training, but primarily use positive reinforcement. There are so many benefits and long-lasting results on dogs from using positive reinforcement. I do use training tools such as prong collars and Ecollars on an as-needed basis. However, I'm a firm believer that a dog should have a clear understanding of basic training foundations before the use of any training tools is brought into play.

• Do you offer private dog training in at-home visits?

  Yes, I can come to your home where they are most comfortable and receptive to do our training and show you how to continue the work when I leave and reinforce the behavior.
