Detection Dog Training Services
As we all know, canines have an incredible olfactory system compared to humans. Using their amazing sense of smell they can be trained to detect certain smells that we humans cannot and give us the information needed to help us with certain jobs.
There are many different types of detection dogs such as:
- Narcotics detection
- Explosive detection
- Arson detection
- Cadaver detection
- Bed Bug detection
- Wildlife conservation detection
We currently only offer bed bug detection training aids but soon plan to get narcotic detection training aids.
About Our Detection Training
At Prevail K9 Training we are striving to help raise the industry standards when it comes to the training process to create highly successful detection dogs. We are proud and confident to say our training uses methods that have been proven to have some of the most successful outcomes in the industry.
When it comes to training detection dogs, our first step is ensuring we pick the correct dog. Potential prospects go through a testing process to ensure that a dog is not only eager and capable of performing the work but also environmentally sound and social.
After testing our dogs will then go on to be thoroughly imprinted on the selected odor(s) for that dog. Imprinting is an important part of the training process to help dogs fully recognize the components of their target odor. Once imprinted then the real fun begins of training our dogs how to alert on target odor(s) and building from there!
All dogs are trained in many different environments and places. We aim to create as many training scenarios as possible that dogs will likely encounter in the real world. Dogs are also proofed off of distractions as well during training.
Contracting
Coming available soon to hire a qualified handler and dog from Prevail K9 Training for specific detection jobs such as bed bug detection and narcotics detection.
